    this is from my alert file. the problem is that there is no disk space. i have corrected it. my concern is that will oracle update the three control files so that they are the same?

    also, what are the other potential issues from the above errors?

    Your DB is still UP?
    If there is a problem in any one of the controlfile then urs DB will not be UP until u fixed that problem either by deleting the controlfile name( bad one) from init.ora parameters or by overwriting the bad controlfile with corrected one.

    hi.. that error happened as i was checking my alert file. my db, applications are still alive though they are significantly slow.. which i am not sure whether it is beacuse of this error.

    Seems Oracle has overwritten some portion of controlfile record section. Oracle ensures that either all are written/ none is written. This should not have any negative effects, but immediately increase the disk space.
