    RMAN in OPS

    Hi friends,

    We have

    OS = aix rs600 2 nodes
    DB = 8.1.5 OPS

    We are backing up our OPS raw device DB using
    OS dd and zip commands.

    Can RMAN be able to able to backup raw devices in OPS?

    Has anybody used RMAN to backup OPS?

    yes rman can do this and is fact recommended, much preferable to open db copy, we backup our 70gb database with rman on rac in 8 minutes (to disk)
