Uninstalled $ORACLE_HOME has 128MB left
OS: XP Professional
DB Version: 9.0.1
I uninstalled the DB, app server, and IFS. According to the installer, there is no more software to uninstall.
I heard somewhere that you can't just delete the $ORACLE_HOME anymore...
Any harm in removing it?

Re: Uninstalled $ORACLE_HOME has 128MB left
Hi,
There is no harm in removing the ORACLE_HOME,unless and until there is no database or any other Oracle product running on the server. Also remove the entry of ORACLE from registery and restart the server.

If you don't mind another question, where in the registry is the oracle home to be removed?
I've never been real comfortable hacking around a windows registry.
What if this were on Unix?

DocID 124506.1 on Metalink tells how to remove Oracle Client from a Windows machine. I would assume that you could remove the same registry values it lists since Oracle Server uses the same ORACLE_HOME.
Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.
HTH!
