terminating instance due to error 443

    Hello,

Does anybody know how to prevent the following:

Database stops (8.1.7) and in the alertlog I've got the following message: PMON terminating instance due to error 443

I've already decreased the size of my SGA a while ago but it doesn't seem to solve the problem. Server = win2000, 3,5 GB RAM, SGA-size = 1.67 GB.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jean-Paul

Are there any additional trace files created in the bdump directory?

yes, there are two add. trace-files, one PMON.trc saying "error detected in background process" and one LGWR.trc with the same message although a little later in time than the PMON-tracefile.

Last lines in the alertlog are:

    Restarting dead background process SNP0
    PMON: terminating instance
Instance terminated by PMON, pid = 1468

The win2000 eventlog says "unable to begin another thread"

It looks like a hardware-problem to me but I'm just not sure.
