No Listener service - TNS-12536: TNS:operation would block

    I had 3 homes on my 2000 server (8i / 9i / Developer suite)

I decided to uninstall 8i, did that and modified my home settings in the resistry.

After rebooting, I do not have the TNS NT service running.

When i try status in lsnrctl; i get the following error:

    Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=nizar)(PORT=1521)))
    TNS-12541: TNS:no listener
    TNS-12560: TNSrotocol adapter error
    TNS-00511: No listener
32-bit Windows Error: 61: Unknown error
    Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=nizar)(PORT=2048)))
    TNS-12541: TNS:no listener
    TNS-12560: TNSrotocol adapter error
    TNS-00511: No listener
32-bit Windows Error: 61: Unknown error

    When i try to start:

    Starting tnslsnr: please wait...

Failed to start service, error 2.
    TNS-12536: TNSperation would block
    TNS-12560: TNSrotocol adapter error
    TNS-00506: Operation would block
32-bit Windows Error: 997: Unknown error

Any suggestions as to how to bring the listener up again.

    Thanks,

    Nizar.

What are the sequential steps of your products installation.I think u are using 8i listener to manage both 8i and 9i.When u uninstalled the 8i naturally the Listener is gone.U can use 9i configuration asst. to create a new Listener.
