    backup strategy

Hi! Our database has multiple tablespaces dedicated to different data grouping. Also, we have all indexes stored in their own tablespaces. My question is, do I need to include the tablespaces that contain the indexes when doing an incremental backup only of the most used tablespaces? Thanks

Yes, but only if you want a successful recovery.

    Thanks to both answers
Another question: What it is your recomendation on whether or not use a (RMAN) catalog? If I am doing level 0 weekly with level 2 daily, what should be my retention period for control files
We are talking about a 50G-500G db (if size has anything to do)
    Thanks again
