    Question feature not enabled: Partitioning

    Dear All,

    I am using oracle 8.1.7.0 Enterprise Edt. as a database for SAP BW.

    While I am doing some operation (in this operation internaly SAP is creating table in which using table partition)then I am getting following error:

    _ORA-00439: feature not enabled: Partitioning
    _DDL time(___1): ........62 milliseconds
    _The SQL statement was not executed
    _Table /BIC/B0000122000 (Error adjusting the database)
    _Table /BIC/B0000122000 was not activated

    My question is:

    How to enable partition option for oracle database.

    When installing oracle, select 'custom' install instead of 'typical'.

    In the ensuing screens, select partitioning as one of the options to be installed. partititoning is not a default option when u do a typical install.
