Problem in installation Oracle 8i 1.7 on p4 1.6
Hi All
I ma facing a problem in installing Oracle 8i 1.7 .
I am having machine P4 1.6.Operrating system is Win2K.
When ever I am trying to install Oracle 8i 1.7 ,System become IDle
e.g .When I run setup.exe ,after few min systme become idle ,unable to proceed further
Can you help me out with this problem

I have installed the Oracle 8i1.7 as described one of the member Madhura.
But now when i restart my system I am getting many error messages
java.exe programm.
what should i do now?

whats the RAM of that machine..what does the event viewer log say ?
when do you get this error ?

Hmm..when do you get the error message..what point of time do you get it ?you start some java tool like DBCA and you get it or what ?
whats the free memory on the system ?

Dude i am not able to reproduce your problem here..that is why this response took so long..i think ur windoze is a problem..can you format and reinstall windowze and then try again...
