Urgent-Oracle 9i Database Installation-help me
Dear all,
I want to install Oracle 9i database release 2 for Windows 2000 in the same Windows 2000 server where Oracle 8i Database has already been installed. Could anybodybody tell me it is possible or not by creating another Oracle HOME in the same machine?
Thanking you in advance,
Manoj

you MUST use a new Oracle Home

Won't it effect the ODBC drivers which are already configured for Oracle 8i??

Different versions of Oracle Database can sit on the same Win 2000 server as long as you have specified different Oracle Home. You will only have problems if you install a latest version before a previous version (ie. installing V8i before V8.) Pando already gave you an answer.

Hi,
you have to define different ORACLE_HOME s to handle Multiple
instances and choose Home through Home Selector whenver you
want to change primary database's default home.
