I am running 9i, I used be able to view this table in 8i with dba privilege and now in 9i I can't view it.

when I logged in SYS with SYSDBA privilege, I can view this table ok

I've seen several objects where that's happened when using 9i instead of 8i. As sys, had to do grant statement.

In Oracle, there is an init.ora parameter called 07_Dictionary_Accessibility. It can be set to TRUE or FALSE.
Before Oracle 9i the default of this parameter was TRUE. In 9i, the default is FALSE. The FALSE setting requires login with AS SYSDBA to read the data dictionary or explicit object grants need to be given.

07_Dictionary_Accessibility is not a function. It is an init.ora parameter.

I misinterpret what I want to say.

    I know it's a parameter in init.ora

I tried to add this parameter into my init.ora but I think the parameter was misspelled b/c Oracle complain.

do you know the right parameter????

by the way, where have you been ???? Glad to have you backup with this forum.

    Thanks

    Julian,

When I add this parameter in the init.ora I got the following error:

LRM-00109: could not open parameter file '/home/oracle/HULIST01/pfile/initHULIST
    01.ora'
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
