    Angry

    Hi all,

I am having a very weired problem. I am installing 11i (11.5.7) on Windows NT 4.0, SP: 6a.

In the initial phase of installation, I got the foll. Error

'O/S Error in starting service OracleVIS_RDBMSAgent'
Now, it is asking me to 'Retry' / 'Ignore'.

Then, I tried to start this service manually from services and gave me foll. Error

'Error 0007 the storage control block was destroyed'

I read all the notes, available on Metalink but none of them are applicable to my problem.

I am really stuck and cannot complete my 11i installation. This error is not related to Oracle Apps so not created thread in Apps DBA.

Thanks in adv. for any help.

    Hi,

I already searched in all search engines. But, nothing was found specific.

    Any other suggestions from Gurus...

    Thanks,
    Sam

    Hi all,

My problem got fixed. I am updating this thread with the solution for helping others solving similar problems.

Reason: The NT user 'Everyone' did not have 'Full-Control' access on ORACLE_BASE, APPL_TOP and other installation folders.

Solution: I gave that permission and did the whole installation all over again and it went pass through this error.

    Thanks!
