Loss of db connection when select issued

I can do everything with my oracle9i database. But suddenly I am experiencing complete logout anytime I attempt a select statement.

I have even created a new user and given dba privilages yet the problem persisits. Any help? Thanks

would you query product_user_profile table and let us know whats in there ??

and are able to connect to db and selct the database throgh third part tool like TOAD ??
