    Hi friends,
I just wanted to clarify if oracle has intorduced any command to change the size of redo log file as it can be done for datafiles.

I belive to change the size of redolog files we need to drop it and re-create it with different size.

If there are other menthods please let me know.

    regards

    Hi,
you're lucky, I messed around that just yesterday ;-).
I think the only and proper way is creating new files and dropping the old ones.
I did it on two running production databases without any problem.
Let me know if you need some further info.

Works just fine. Drop the logfile group, remove redofiles from OS and then recreate the group, use "alter system switch logfile" if group are marked current to be able to drop it. Most problems with this comes when your not noticing the names correctly and removes members of another group from OS . It can happen...
