    There is no service associated with rman. Do you mean the service for the database that is the recovery catalog? Rman is usually kicked off by some kind of scheduling process, ie: cron, at or oem... so find the job and disable it if you want it to stop....if that's not what you mean, I think you need to give more specifics.

    Hi,

    There is no service associated with RMAN. It is like SQLPLUS. How do you start the start plus from command line. The same way you will have to start. When you say exit from RMAN prompt the rman.exe will be completed from bin directory as like SQLPUS.exe

    I think he means the database!
    You can shut it down from the control panel(os NT).
    What is the problem that you're encountering?
