Thread: desc table_name;

    Question

    Hi,
    when i execute
    sql> desc emp ( or any other table)
    I get end of file on communication channel and immediately disconnect from Oracle. All other DML and select work fine. It happens not just with one table but with all tables.
    May be somebody has solution?

    Hello;
    we had the same problem when the table to described was linked to a far db with database link.
    The problem was that the migrating-script to the next oracle-version did not work fine.
    a new instance with the new version worked fine!
