    Can anyone tell me how transactions per minute oracle can have on Linux o/s?

    This question is too broad and general. Transactions per minute would depend on so many things. Ranging from type of application (OLTP, HYBRID, DWH), to memory issues, robust sql, contention on files, RBS, indexing etc etc. The OS is important but not the actual determinant for transactions per minute.
    Life is what is happening today while you were planning tomorrow.
