    Hi,

    I was working on Win NT Oracle 9i database Personal

    Iam want to SET my DATABASE to STAND BY DATABASE ON
    SINGNAL SYSTEM is it possiable or not.

    If it possiable how i should have to configure that what are parameter's and what are the step i have to take .

    Please give breafe details.

    I don't think its possible, but its worth trying. You will need your source system to be in archive log mode. You will need a manual way of moving the archives over. you will need to copy over your original database and put it in recover mode, and then create a widows job that will apply all of the logs.

    I would be much easier with Oracle enterprise. You can specify and alias for the standby database as one of the archive destinations. If you do that the archives will move over automatically. Bearing in mind that if the process gets interuppted you will need to manually apply archive logs until they are back in sync.
