Thread: DB shutdown question

    ....how come my database takes so long (2 to 3 min) to do a shutdown immediate, I'm the only user for this db? I'm running 8i on a PIII. It used to shutdown alot quicker (like 5 seconds)... Thanks in advance

    If you have done any transactions, it would have to commit them before it shuts down. If it stays there for evere, then CTRL-C and issue shutdown abort
