hi
I am using Oracle9i.
I created one more UNDO tablespace for testing purpose.
After that i dropped this tablespace datafile (undo tablespace)
using alter database...offline drop command.
Deleted the file using OS command.
When i restarted the DB as SYS user i could not able to start it.The instance is referring the Datafile which i dropped.
How to remove this reference or kindly help me if anyone knows about this problem.
I am sending the trace file error.
Thanks in advance,
S.Kumar

Dropping the datafile is not the same as dropping the tablespace. You will have to startup mount and then drop the undo tablespace.
