    hai,
    i am installing oracle 8.1.7 enterprise edition on windows NT.
    while installing ,configuration tools have to be started automatically.
    but it is taking so much time.
    what is the problem?.
    why?.
    i would thankfull,if anybody explain the problem.

    How much memory do you have on the server/desktop??

    Hi,

    I got a similiar problem, I can not get my oracle universal installer page. It supose to apear after clicking Instal/Deinstall product menu at Autorun page. Herewith my detail installation plan.

    Product to install: OEM 2.2, Oracle 8.1.7
    OS: Win NT
    Box: Pentium 4 1G Mhz with 128M RAM

    This problem apear only when I try to install in above box.
    Please advise any solution.

    Its known problem that u cant install the Oracle 8i directly on Pentium4 machine.
    If u are having metalink support u can search for the installation steps of Oracle 8i on Pentium 4 along with Patch.

    So much for Moore's law. I didn't even know they passed the 10GHZ limit let alone the 1GMhz limit!
