Hello,
We have bought a new NT server with raid5 option. Our oracle db is in a old NT server, we are trying to migrate our database from old to new.
I created the DB, and I exported the DB from old one and reimported in the new one.
My user tablespace in the old one is 2G and in the new one it is 4G. I dont understand why it occupies more space.
If some one can explain me it will be of great help.
Sorry for my english

Have you increase your db_block_size in the new DB?

If you did the export with a compress=y then it will change the initial extent to be the sum of all og the extents, that coupled with the minimum extent parameter being set to something other than 1 would also cause the database to use more space. But certainly a larger block size will increase the amount of allocation for your database.
