    Hi Gurus,

We have migrated our Oracle Fin.Application ver 1103 from NT to Sun Solaris SPARC-II ver 8 and the Database is 8.0.6. It is working fine as expected speed in all the modules except Work flow.

In NT, the Work Flow used to take less than 1 minute for Purchase Order Approval, where as in Solaris it takes more than 25 minutes.

Could some one throw some light on this...
    TIA

    Lead...Solution

    Hi, 30th Nov 2001 17:41 hrs Mumbai

I have worked on Oracle Apps Inventory and OE.

Any how while i worked with Maximo on WINNT(Maximo is an EAM-Enterprise Asset Management at Enron -Maximo is a very Famous Plant Maintenance Module.Even Oracle Apps Uses this Maximo combination ) we have work flow as on Add on Module .While Implementing work flow we faced Performance problem .

What we did is went to regedit

the workflow folder was under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE software ==>Appl server(i.e) work flow server =>mxservice ==>i chnaged the commandline parameter value listed below as

    jre -cp .;.\lib\jndi.jar;.\lib\providerutil.jar;.\lib\ldap.jar;.\lib\fscontext.jar;.\lib\rmiregistry.jar;.\l ib\mail.jar;.\lib\activation.jar;.\lib\xml4j_1_1_9.jar -mx256m psdi.server.MXServer

you find memory listed as mx256m we allocated from actuall worl flow server(512 mb ram) -mx446m( setting aside 64m) .

Note we had seperate server for work flow.Even though we had sepearate server after changing the above paramter our performance on work flow increased.

So i hope if you could follow as simillar in new o/s how much memory has been allocated to the work flow server parameter you can improve your performance.

I am sure all EAM or ERP logic are same just little variations.

In WINNT Some one would have properly set this may be you would not have had problem or not awre of the change made .Here you have to set this on Solaris again.

    Cheers

    Padmam
