    Hi,

I m running SAP on Oracle 816 on Win NT Ent 4.0 SP6

My DB Size is 106 GB a present and growing at rate of approx. 10 GB / Month.

My question is How (If I can) can I estimate the size of DMP file in case I want to export. And also how much time it will take.

I want to export tables, indexes with constraints also.

My export file is about 30 - 35% of the size of my database.

The time for export has a lot of dependencies.

    Good luck.

    Hello

No you cannot estimate the size of the export dump.you can use named pipes as an alterbnative if you are worried about the 2Gb size limit.

    hrishy,

No, presently I m not worried by 2gb limit.

Actually I want to estimate the 'TIME' it is gonna take to export.

Worry comes next to this step......

well, taking an export and finding out is one way. (If you wanna start worrying..!! )
As for hrishy - i believe pipes are into picture only on unix and not on NT.

    Hi,

Do u want to say that if my dmp file size goes beyond 2 Gb , it is going to fail.

Ya, I am using NT only.

Then how should i export as I m having database > 106 GB.
    (I m running SAP)

I think in Nt there are no problem with the file size, only one disk with bigger than the file's size.
