    just thinking aloud

It sounds like the "nabster" controversy !!
Forgive me for using this forum for thinking aloud.

Aren’t we using this forum to get to interact with people.
Aren’t we using this forum to share our ideas.
Aren’t we using this forum to help each other with ocp-dba test.
What’s so wrong if somebody wants to exchange or share his stuff !!
(I don’t agree with selling - for selling/buying we have so many other places on the net,
but not so many for trading )

Well, I think that it depends on the policy of the forum.
If the policy is - no trading books/material … OK then we just have to follow it or
Get ready to be nabbed by the moderators. But I personally feel that this site is ideal for exchange of ocp related material (may be even for a fee).

Moderators/owners are you guys listening – this may be revenue opportunity? or are there copywrite issues with exchange?

Again I am just THINKING aloud!!
What do you guys think ?

Of course there are copyright issues with an exchange. From the STS software license agreement:

Grant of License. STS hereby grants to you a nonexclusive, nontransferable, nonassignable, limited right to use one copy of the enclosed Software in object code form only on a single terminal connected to a single computer and only for your individual, personal, non-commercial use. SHARING THIS SOFTWARE WITH OTHERS OR ALLOWING OTHERS TO VIEW THE CONTENTS OF THIS SOFTWARE IS A VIOLATION OF THIS LICENSE.

What is wrong with selling STS CDs to others?

I do not see any problem if I sell my CDs to others.

Grant of License. STS hereby grants to you a nonexclusive, nontransferable, nonassignable, limited right to use one copy of the enclosed Software in object code form only on a single terminal connected to a single computer and only for your individual, personal, non-commercial use. The software license agreement does NOT say it should NOT be sold to others.

Can any one explain in detail what the true meaning of "nontransferable" in the License Agreement?

    From dictionary.com:
Transfer - To make over the possession or legal title of
Nontransferable - incapable of being transferred

Happy to split hairs with you.
