Thread: control file parallel write

    Where there are so many control file parallel write in 8i , Oracle says the checkpoint writes to ctl files constantly and results in to lots of control file parallel write waits,, but why does this affet the db_block_hit ratio %%%

    Before they could get flushed out the dirty blocks, oracle would have to make a write the SCN and other book keeping information to the controlfile. So that when your database gets to crash, oracle would use the control file to recover. So, if there is going to be a contention on the control file writes, then it would obviously increase the contention down the pipe line...
