    Exclamation

I am having trouble with enterprise manager 1.6.5 which is running on Oracle 7.3.4. I can discover the node on which our databases run but i cannot see the databases themselves. I have intelligent agent as well as oracle names installed. I have no idea why i can't see the database from enterprise manager. All of OEM's side apps work except for the main product. Any ideas?

Check the tnsnames are configured properly. check you start the intelligent agent

    lsnrctl dbsnmp_start

    then the data gatherer

    vppcntl -start

Go to the services and check the Oracle intellegent agent had been started.

    Services

The services currently running are OracleAgent,
    OracleNamesService80,
DataGatherer along with normal Oracle services.

Can you just turn off the oracle names and check whether you were able to succeed. Looks like the agent couldn't find all your database instances, to do this OEM uses the tnsnames and I thing Oracle names is clashing with this.
