    Hi guys,

My DB was frozen, I issue a shutdown immediate, and the next day the DB still are downing, i start to kill all the process that form the SGA, and I shutdown the machine too.

When I connect Internal, and i try to startup the database, ever appears the same " ORA-01078 - failure in processing system parameters".

My system is Solaris 8 and Oracle 8i.

    Thanks in advance and regards.

    Hi,
Can u give me the message stack with reference to an incorrect paramter. In most of the cases the problem is with the SHARED_POOL_SIZE which should be greater than 300000 beacuse 300K is the minimum value for this paramter.
If u give me the error on which paramter it comes,I will be able to guide u more to startup ur database.
In case of any help please be free to ask me at rohitsn@altavista.com

    Regards.

You probably have a bad init.ora parameter somewhere. Please post the complete message. Also, what has changed since the last time you bounced your db?

That's true. If you post the init.ora we might try to help you.

    Thumbs up

    Thank you very much guys,
I solve the problem, the problem was that last week i increase the shared_pool_size without modify the parameter shared_pool_reserved_size that could be more or less the 1o% of shared_pool, cause the db doesn't start.

Now the db is open and running normally.

Thank you very much for your support.

    Regards.
