    Unhappy

Is anybody knows how to fix this error. I am trying to create new DB on Oracle 8.1.7, but everytime I get an error message:

    ORA-01501: CREATE DATABASE failed
ORA-29702: error occurred in Cluster Group Service operation

Of cours I read description of error message, but it is not clear. All proccess have been started after database startup.

    Thanks.

Verify that the LMON process is still active. ??

    How can I verify it?
I can't find "ps ax|grep lmon" and "ps ax|grep ora" doesn't show me any information about lmon?

    Thanks

I am sticking my neck out here as I do not know a great deal about it, is there no lmon trace file?

How you are cretaing the db ? If you r using dbassist, try to save the creation commands in a batch file, or if you r keying the create database command, get it and send it to the list.
