Hi Gurus,
A generally particular question.
Could I install both NT and Unix on the same machine?
And the respective Oracle databases(say one on NT, one on Unix)
If so, what would be the criteria.
Would be grateful for any comments, links, info.
Thanks guys!

Yes, you can install both unix (linux) and NT/win2000 on the same machine. It is best to first of all install the NT, then install linux and configure the linux boot utility called lilo to allow you to boot either windoze or unix at boot time. Additionally, I would recommend you install each OS on a separate drive.
Please come back right here if you need more help.

Hi
Yes you can have NT and unix on the same machine only the follwoing flavours of unix work..
NT + Linux yes
NT +sun solaris Yes
NT+Free BSd yes
note the sun solaris should be for intel operating system.its immaterial which operating you install first.but easierto install winNt first.
In case you case you installed linux first then you will have to make a boot image of the kernel Vmlinuz and place it in C: and pklace a record in boot.ini for winnt loader to boot it from there.also if you install linux first make sure that you dont install lilio into the MBR .......
