Hi Friends..
I have a question regarding replication of which I know hardly anthing about.
We currently have a production database on one server (A) at Site A. All users connect to this database/server only.
We are thinking of creating a second server (B), at Site B, which will be an exact clone of Server A. This server will only be switched to if a disaster was to hit Site A, Server A.
The network currently has a baud rate of 50K per second.
Does anyone know the best strategy/requirements of having a clone database at siteB, which will be an exact replica of the Live database.
Thanks in advance..
Suresh

By The Way..
BTW, I'll be using replication manager as part of OEM version 2.1 .
Oracle 8.1.6

I think what you are looking at is Standby Database, simpler to implement

Hi
Hi Pando..
Looking deeper into it I agree with you..
Can you please list implementation plan for a stand by database ?
What Oracle tools are available to set up a stand by database?
Any articles available for a stand by database ?
Cheers
