Thread: rman cannot start on linux

    Dear Moderators/Members
    I have installed Oracle 8.1.7.0.1 on redhat 6.2, everything works fine but for the fact that when I try to invoke 'rman' at the shell prompt, it just hangs...Please please help tell me what I have to do to solve this problem.

    I just realize the problem stemmed from the fact that I should have type

    $ ./rman

    instead of

    $ rman
    roukie-dba
