    Hi,

My colleague is having trouble with a temp tablespace in that for some reason the tablespace has max_extents of zero. He said that it was initially created with max extents unlimited and that nothing has been changed. When he tries to alter max extents param. Oracle does not return an error (thru' gui or svrmgrl), but still max extents is set to zero. Any idea why?

    Cheers

    Chris.

Create a new temp segment, change the temporary tablespace to the new temp segment for all users, and then drop the old temp segment.

Thanks for the responses fellas, but... there's plenty of space left on the HD. I realise that creating another temp tablespace could do the trick, but I'm just a little confused about why this would happen in the first place.

    Cheers

    Chris.

You can change the MAXEXTENTS of the TEMP Tablespace.
