Hi all,
Are there any performance issues I should be aware of in implementing a read-only snapshot replication. Will this mode degrade database performance? If yes, any recommendations to counter it.
Thanks,

Hi,
See snapshot is normally used for replication purpose.See if u have 2 databases situated over a distance then u can replicate ur tables into the other database so in case ur primary database fails u have got an alternate copy of tables in the second database.
See replication do degrade database performance but the degradation is very negligible.U can refresh ur snapshots may be in the night when the overhead on the database is very low.U can also go for fast refreshes instead of complete refreshes since fast refreshes only updates the data which has been changed since the last refresh of the snapshot whereas complete refresh will execute the snapshot query again to generate the data.
