feels good! cleared 1z0001 Tips / future advise

cleared my first exam today...pl/sql.(1Z0001) ..thanks to all who guided...

The questions were about

1. pl/sql constructs with examples and case scenarios.
2. user views..
3. if then else, while loop scenarious
4. grants privileges , roles ....linked roles.
5. where / having clause usage
6. single line functions, round(), nvl, month_between()
7. Exhibit based questions..char, varchar, number, datatypes..


My approach:
Oracle working experience: 2 + years ,my background Btech engineering , MBA (IS), IT experience 5 + years

Couchman guide for ocp certification, oracle documentaion, Oracle complete reference guide,pl/sql black book,
STS( very helpful), cbt's , other web based free tests available on the net

Prep time : 4 weeks ( about 70 hrs)...

Advice: Do your home work ..and you'll cruise..fundamentals need to be strong, hands on practise helps..

I am shooting for the next one in 2 weeks time..1Z0013, Oracle 8 database admin. I would appreciate if some "oracle guru share there experiences .....focus points..game plan ..

Questions
1. what's the degree of difficulty ? compared to pl/ sql ? Any road map ? or should follow the old route..
2. Any body with exam discount vouchers ? i am interested .

the DBA test is easier than PL/SQL. I did it in four weeks and I have no prior ORACLE knowledge nor any IT experience. I think you may just focus on STS ( I mean the one with 300 sample questions). If you can get 90% out of the
STS, you 'll make it .

Congratulations !
According to me, its easy to be certified even you
don't have any previous experience as there are
so many OCP DBAs now a day who don't have any
previous experience, i also did it myself at home without
any experience!! BUT Experience helps to get the job and
i think if you have some experience in oracle (DBA or Dev)
than it shold be too easy to get certified, Am i right?

The Difficulty level for Database Admin is '3' compare to
PL/SQL '4' so for this paper you need to know the
fundamentals of oracle and its internal architechture(structure).
This will help you in rest of all papers.
I agree on STS as it is best source to prepare for the exam
and but you have (CBT, couchman's book,...) more than
enough to be prepared.
