Advice plz: ODBC drivers and 8.1.5 to 9.2 conversion
We are currently using 8.1.5.0 on Win NT4 and running our main production system that connects using the ODBC driver: 'Microsoft ODBC for Oracle" Vers. 2.573.4202.00 [MSORCL32.DLL] installed as part of the MDAC2.1 MS database access utility.
OK - for reasons I won't/can't go into - it has been decided to develop the new version of the software in 8.1.5 on NT4 etc using same drivers BUT to implement the new software direct to a new environment running Ora 9.2 on NT or Win2K servers with a mix of NT4 and XP clients.
My question is: Will the existing ODBC drivers be a viable option in this scenario? Does XP come with its own ODBC drivers that are preferable?
Anyone point me to a decent resource regarding ODBC connectivity to Oracle?
