FATAL ERROR IN TWO_TASK SERVER
Docs say its not an error. Ok.
But what's causing it? What does it actually mean?
From the trace files its a 'SELECT * FROM a complicated view that draws data across a link from a remote database' that triggers it.
Why would the SELECT be blocking anything?

Upgrade your version of SQL*Net to 2.3. Older versions of SQL*Net
(prior to version 2.3) are not multi-threaded and its commands are
issued to SQL*Net before executing commands are finished. This can
result in an ORA-03123.
