See Control Panel/Services and if any of Oracle services is running, stop it.
It may be listener, http server, even the database ;)
I'm using Terminal Server to connect to the Server.
I've copied the Patches to the server c: drive and double click the setup.exe. This starts up the universal installer.
In the source textbox I put
\Patches\8172 NT\81721\81721\stage\products.jar
When it gets to 'Processing LDAP required support files'
it fails with the message I first posted.
HELP !!!..........
All relevant services were shut down.
BUT..........
we went through the rest shutting them down one at a time and retrying.
The culprit was the TRELLISOFT agent - I believe it is to do with NT recognising our Backup Tapes.
Thanks for the prompt input.
I dont think its a good practise to do patching over terminal services. I prefer being at the console itself. Terminal serviceas have been known to freezeup at times...
