Problem Description
-------------------
After installing WebDB, your Oracle HTTP Listener (powered by Apache),
no longer starts successfully. It won't start correctly from the
command line or from Services. This functionality did work before
installing WebDB.
Solution Description
--------------------
WebDB removed the WV_GATEWAY_CFG environment variable setting. Enter this
environment variable under the System properties and point it to the following
location: ORACLE_HOME_DIRECTORY\Apache\modplsql\cfg\wdbsvr.app
The value ORACLE_HOME_DIRECTORY is the location where 9iAS is installed.
Replace that with the actual physical path where 9iAS is installed like
o:\oracle\iSuites
Reboot your system and the Apache listener should start. If it doesn't, run
the command used in your shortcut to start the listener from a DOS prompt.
Be sure your WV_GATEWAY_CFG environment variable is set in your DOS environment.
You can check to see if it is set with the following command:
set WV_GATEWAY_CFG
It should echo the value.
To set it, use the following command:
set WV_GATEWAY_CFG ORACLE_HOME_DIRECTORY\Apache\modplsql\cfg\wdbsvr.app
Also, be sure to disable the WebDB listener from automatically starting up.
You can create a DAD using Portal to connect to your WebDB
Explanation
-----------
The WV_GATEWAY_CFG environment variable is required to be set correctly for
9iAS HTTP Listener powered by Apache to start.
