Rock and Roll is polutting the minds of our youth.
Rap is turning all our young people into gangsta wannabes.
Country Music is America. What else is there to say?
Just don't start singing about your achy breaky heart! ;) No genre has spawned more bad music then country music! Freinds don't let friends listen to country! :pQuote:

Rap Music, the oxymoron of the century.
you asked:
Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, Talking Heads, The Waitresses,
Psychedelic Furs, 1969 NY Mets music video (Nolan Ryan singing
 ), Peter Gabriel
I like the Talking Heads and the Psychedelic Furs as well. I like Alabama and Highway 101 on the country side.
Since the Grateful Dead played music that fits into most American genre's,
The Grateful Dead IS America!!! :D :D :D
Gesualdo & Pink Floyd (and anything in between).
My older brother (10 years my senior) dragged me to a bunch of shows when I was a kid. In college, nobody forced me.Quote:

They played a wide variety of music, and created a large cult following. They are and have been one of the most influential bands in the 20th century.Quote:

Beside conservatives are jealous of the free love that they practiced. ;) So that makes you a Birkenstock wearing hippie liberal wannabe! ;)
What about Neil Young? I'm listening to Decade now. Cortez The Killer, the only Neil Young song that I know of to be banned in Spain!!!

C'mon Gandolf, there is no need to justify the Dead to anyone. Personally I never "got" them. The Dead were like Pee Wee Herman, you either loved them or didn't, I didn't.
I'm not discrediting them, it is just that some people did not get what they were all about.
Decade is a great album and Neil Young is one of the greatest songwriters of out time. You do know that it is a best of album no?
Take a listen to Reckoning, Working Man's Dead and Eurpe '72. I have Europe '72 on vinyl. Another great dead albumn is American Beauty. There are just too many great dead albums to name.Quote:

As it covers the "Decade" from 1967 to 1977, yes it is a best of.Quote:

The members of Spinal Tap were also in a Mighty Wind. They once opened for themselves as The Folksmen and got Booed off the stage. :DQuote:
