Using civil disobedience to protest something unpopular is fine. I think that Martin Luther King Jr. set the standard for how to protest. But when a protest turns violent, then its gone too far. Escpecially the incident where someone attacked a police officer, that takes a tense situation and makes it 100 times worse.
I agree with the irony though. I'm sure that most Americans will be happy once the table election is over.
Can we do "compassionate conservative" after that? :DQuote:

Oh Dave, you are too funny, so far left that you can acknowledge nothing.
Maybe we can discuss a “more sensitive war” too.
I’ll get my spitballs ready.
How bout Cheney’s speech huh Dave, did you love it?
I didn't catch Cheny's speech. But I found a transcript of it on the web. Check it out in case you missed some of what he was really saying. Cheney's SpeechQuote:

From one of your own
"Miller, a Democrat, chastised Kerry for voting against weapons programs. "This is the man who wants to be the commander in chief of our U.S. Armed Forces?" Miller asked. "U.S. forces armed with what? Spitballs?"
I got the gist of it -- "Bush is decisive ... Kerry is French ... the GOP is chock-a-block with minorities ... if you don't vote for us then we'll all be destroyed .... be very afraid". Usual crowd-pleasing stuff, and no surprises.Quote:

What's the story with this guy Miller? I see he repeated the "Kerry voted against the following weapon systems ..." lie, side-stepping Cheneys opposition to those same weapon systems (mentioned here before, right?) It's like someone's implanted a little chip in his brain to make him dumb things.
I wish the dems would start telling lies as often and as effectively as the repubs do so.
But Dave that would take the fun out of exposing the republicans lies. :rolleyes:Quote:

It's only fun the first time -- when it's repeated again and again and again I start to lose my interest (and roll my eyes also). You know if someone wants to believe the lies, then they're not going to be interested in the truth, right? I mean that applies not just to GOP political speeches, or to left-wing movies, but to religion, personal relationships, sports, whatever.Quote:

Thoughts?
Go Giants!!!
I have to leave early today to go to the game, kickoff at 7pm, need to start drinking by noon.
Dave, find me a politicain that does not lie, the Dems are just as guilty. They enjoyed a long Bush bashing campaign.
Two things wrong with this country Democrats and Republicans, 11 out of 10 of them are no good.
Jimmy Carter!!!!Quote:

So what's the answer to that then, if all politicians lie? Surely it's to recognize when they are, judge how wacky the lie is, and count how many times they say it.Quote:

I think that Mr Hanky just wants to vote for a tall good looking man who will make him feel safe. Someone to watch over him, right?Quote:

Bush is as big a spender, if not bigger than any democrat. There really is no difference between either party. Think about it, who is the "best friend" of the last two presidents? I don't mean countrys as a whole, I mean individualy. Bill Clinton and George Bush share the same "best friend". Care to guess who? After coming to the answer one can easily see why there is no real difference between either party. That same thought could just as easily apply the 4th president back, and HIS "best friend".
Z. Miller is to the democrats what Christine Todd Whittman is to the republicans.
I'll vote for neither of them.
Rick

A vote for Perot didn't mean I wanted Clinton to win.
I voted for Perot in 1996 and I did want Clinton to Win. I also would like to see a 3rd party in the USA. However, I won't vote for Nader because I don't want to see what would happen with another 4 years of GWB and co.Quote:
