Hi
on a serious note ..i could dod well if i can learn windoze ;-D sun solaris sys admin,or other unix sys admin,XML this is really hot..Java EJB is again hot..BEA weblogic Oracle 9ias single sign on and still find time to get email addys of the lady DBAS mentioned by jim..;-D
regards
Hrishy
Rather correctly said, nick. Someone who's had a lot of experience as a dba, who knows and refers ro the manuals like the back of his palm and is very versatile with oracle technologies, need not waste his cents on that ocp. For others it can be a way to learn some more things(like me) as you wouldn't do ALL that on your work. And from there you'd rather read the manuals and practice at home.Quote:

Ijust finished my dwh(560+ page manual) so i'd concentrate on reading another one than waste my cents on a cert.
Upgrade path might sound a logical choice but i wouldn't know what if it'll help you get a job.
This one is certainly getting to be a cool thread,Quote:

Well jim, if you got a sleazy boss then you might just have to do that as well..........
If you've got a racle tattoo on your right butt cheek, you're his guy:D (tim's got one, if i remember form an old thread..)
I've talked a colleague through a media recovery, while lying naked in bed . . . . a question of piorities . . . .
Well since I have my OCP and have the "rights" to use their logo.
I have since had an OCP logo tattooed on an undisclosed part of my anatomy. :D

Go OCP, or go home!
Does certification make it more enjoyable?
No, just more legal. I would not want Larry to see me and on some nude beach in Rio and then get sued for not having the legal rights to the coveted OCP logo.Quote:

Perish the thought that I should suggest you would "wear" OCP without the right to it. I was talking about something else . . . never mind . . .
Not sure I'd want a TLA or FLAM tattooed anywhere, not after working in IT for a pharma company - never quite sure if STD stood for "State Transition Diagram" or "Sexually Transmitted Disease".
When you enter my apartement you can see on the wall with plastic big letters (bought them from IKEA): ORACLE. Black ones, there were no red letters :-)Quote:
