Julian,
thanks for answering my query.
I am going for the Oracle9i: Real Application Clusters Implementation and the Oracle9i: Database: Implement Partitioning.
Here is an article that I wrote on List Partitioning.

Depending whats goes on Julian we should keep in touch and discuss the practicum test.

I have already read your article on List Partitioning. It is a very good one and I personally find list partitioning a very (if not the most) powerful method of partitioning in Oracle. I would be curious to hear Jeff's opinion on list partitioning as well for I have noticed that also Jeff is a partitioning expert.
Eric: we keep in touch via email.
Congrats Julian
Can u suggest me some book or site for 9i upgrade exam. i'm 8i certified. oracle-base is quit good one. I'm going thro' it.

Thanks! I only used the ILTs.Quote:

That site is very good: http://www.oracle-base.com/Articles/9i/Articles9i.asp
This book might be OK but it lacks 3 chapters from the ILTs.

I think Jason Couchman's book will soon be available. His books are better than great :-)
Nice work Eric!Quote:

Eric & Julian,
I'd be interested in any information you get about the Oracle Certified Masters track. I work freelance so I would loose two weeks wages in addition to the cost of the courses plus expenses. I like the thought of doing this track but I'm struggling to justify the costs involved.
Are your companies paying for your certification or is it coming out of your own pockets?
I will probably have to pay for it myself. My employer got burned by a bad experience with a former employee a year ago and training is on hold unless needed.
I probably will take the 9i RAC class first.
I was a former sales rep for Oracle and OPS/RAC was my main technical strength.
Hopefully the three of us can get this OCM thing by mid year.
Any one else that is going for the 9i OCM . . . join the thread!
My company's paying for both ILTs and tests.Quote:
