The problem with drugs boils down to education and common sense, which most of the latter is non-existent in America.
Drugs are just like alcohol and tobacco. Both can kill you and both alter your state (yes tobacco does but not to the extent alcohol does). Everything in moderation, one drink a day or one cigarette a day is not going to kill you. You drink a lot and you'll die from lack of a liver, you smoke a lot you'll die from lung cancer.
Drugs are the same way in the sense that each one will have a different effect on your body. You poke too much smot and you cease to have a brain. You bump too much yea yo and you won’t be able to smell anything and you heart will explode.
Another good example of education is looking at Germany. They sell beer at McDonalds and if your 16 you can walk into any bar and have a beer. Is their country littered with alcoholics? No, people have a few beers then go home.
Look at Amsterdam. Everything is legal it's up to the individual if they want to do drugs or not. Is their country littered with heroin addicts?
The main problem that exists in America is the rebellious nature. People want to do things that are against the law because they are told they can't do something. They're just like teenagers, you tell them not to do something and they're going to do it. And they wonder why p0rn is the biggest industry?
If America were to legalize any drug there would be a great influx of people abusing it then after about 5 years the abuse would taper off because the "newness" had wore off, then it would become just like alcohol.
can't believe I'm saying this here
As a parent, I know my kids will experiment with drugs but I know with proper education it won't have a bad effect in their lives and they'll learn from it. I'm going to love it when other kids come up to my kids all excited about wanting to go have liquid lunch or smoke a blunt at school. My kids will laugh at them and ask them what's the big deal? go get a life!
