For me write speed dont matter much as we run a nightly batch process to update the database and the users only use the database to query it from the web site.
But after running scripts I see that there is a lot redo log latch contention and also contention for rollback undo headers. Should I ignore them because of the fact that its the read speed which counts or should I do something to fix it.
I must mention here that I have 2 logical partions on a RAID 5 machine all across the same set of hard drives ( 4 ).
Please suggest.
