Yes, we have considered that option - changing hash join to nested loops. But, isn't it that with 9i -armed with better memory management options - Oracle handles hash joins better and faster than nested loops ?
If the one-off patch doesn't work, we plan to apply 9206 patch. If there isn't any luck, we will be changing the hash join to nested loops.
