this weekend we have added new disk with 8 GB space . and my compressed export dump through pipe is 1.8GB . i moved export dump to new filesystem /u10 and tried to uncompress and it failed . filesize too large .
1) how can i uncompress existing file .
2) How can i check filesize limit .
3) is there anything i need to check ( vizz whethere filesystem is mounted with large files .... etc )
uncompress through a pipe and import. It's the exact reverse of exporting through a pipe :rolleyes:
I tried that . It works fine .
but as a strategy to make future exports .
what should i need to change in solaris
to maintaining single export dump .
i am sure in few days even compressed export
dump will cross 2 GB . i may face problem of 2 GB there too .
I just tried export and it failed at 2GB

Either enable large files, or split the .DMP files to different mount points. Although the latter can get sloppy.

Hardware: SUNW,Ultra-80
VxFS format .

To enable largefile system support:
# /usr/lib/fs/vxfs/fsadm -o largefiles /
Example: # /usr/lib/fs/vxfs/fsadm -o largefiles /u12
To verify that the largefiles flag is enabled:
# /usr/lib/fs/vxfs/fsadm /
Example: # /usr/lib/fs/vxfs/fsadm /u12
