Slimdave, why wouldn't a simple reboot do...? I have come across the same problem JMac is having, and I would use oradim to delete the database, then go and delete all directories that would allow me, then reboot to get the rest and finish by cleaning the registry.
DaPi.....how do you go about fiddling with registry by way of binary, I find that intersting, or were you being fetitious...?

Tried it several times, just wouldn't let me delete the Oracle Home and its subfolders in the OS. Renamed the folder, rebooted and it worked fine. Just wondering what it was that could have been holding onto the .dll as no Oracle services or processes were running as far as I could see.Quote:

I don't know how much slimdave charges nor how many person-hours this has consumed, but the crusher might be the cost-effective solution!
I confess I can't remember the last time I edited anything in binary. (Thirty years ago we were regularly patching programs on the fly on a PDP-7.) It's a bit like trying to remember the last time you used a telephone with a dial.

They should be making a come back. Fine chunky bakelite things that worked perfectly.
My phone here has memories and programs and only works 50% of the time.
