You could be right there. Also, handing out speeding tickets is popular.Quote:

Slimdave,
I worked in columbus for 3 years after college and its the best place to live IF you want to avoid skin cancer. Colorado is the opposite sun, sun, sun. I took a flight home to chicago to sell my home, when I left the springs you could look out the big windows and see pikes peak, cavu ( clear above, visibility unlimited ). When I returned it was still cavu. The entire week in chicago I was in a funk because it was overcast.
Mr. Hanky,
True words indeed but just as the aircraft struggles to perform in the thin air so do my lungs :)
It was a very good ride indeed.
:D
I drove to the top of Pikes Peak on Saturday -- a great trip, but carrying one of my kids around at the summit reminded me of the good old days when i rolled my own smokes. Thought my lungs were collapsing.
Wish there was more commercial (non-defense) Oracle work in the Springs though. Anyone got a spare job?
I liked driving up and down the NJTP. It was like taking a smell tour of the state.
" Thought my lungs were collapsing."
LOL!
Yes the springs ora-work is priced horribly, really at the low end of the rate scale. Maybe you can get a gig in the tech center just watch monument hill when commuting. I was going to buy a 'house-and-a-hanger' in Elizabeth and fly to centennial for tech center work.
We drove out the house and it turned out to be a 'house-in-a-hanger' No way was she going for that, couple acres made a good runway.
Here from my DBA friend Trudy in The Republic of Boulder...
"Things just getting worse here. The office paper vendor came by yesterday and picked up all our paper supplies (they didn't just stop shipments they picked up what we had on hand). And one of the temp agencies we were getting people from came on site and escorted the temps out. They are going to abandon the buildings and leases that we are in and move us into the old Ecrix buildings and we might end up sitting in cubes in the warehouse. We are losing half our servers and should I go on?????"
"If you hear of any part or full time DBA positions let me know. "
Now, now, now...There's nice areas in New Jersey east of Hackensack. Oh wait, that's New York...Quote:

Well, my issue with the defence work is just that they're not too keen on foreign nationals down at USAF Space and Missile Command. I wonder why? Better get me that citizenship quick. And the Top Secret clearance.
What is this "tech center" of which you speak?
North I-25, throttle back when you see civilization ;)
Exit Arapahoe east
