if my O/S is same, and the instance name is same
so what steps i wrote is it right.

Also i have to try from windows 2000 to windows 2000
NT to NT , linux to linux , etc what i wrote the steps 1 to 8 is it right ?

Yes your steps are right if you are moving db's between machines that have the same OSes, ie. Linux to Linux, HPUX to HPUX.

I think it will be a right way. Why don't you have a try using a test database?
