Im working in South East UK myself
I am in Brentwood, Essex.
Possibly thinking of a move into the city in next 6 months.
Looking at jobsites, there seems to be a small slump in market, do you know why ?
Are there any jobsites you can recommend ?
Thanks
Suresh
I do recomend
http://www.gojobsite.co.uk
I recieve an e-mail every morning containing at least ten new Oracle DBA jobs that I can apply for.
My search covers the south of england. If you were to ask for jobs in brentwood you may only find 1 a week.
I do recomend checking em out all the same. What's annoying is the different agencies that see your cv and ring you. :). Just to ask the same bunch of questions the last guy asked.
gojobsite.co.uk´s salary seems too high, jobserve seems normal, reed.co.uk seems ok which one is more reliable :-?
Hi there,
I work in West Yorkshire and live in North Yorkshire... a bit of a commute but worth it for the job im doing. Currently work for Yorkshire Building Society. Where you working from?

That's one thing I hate too..
Agents ringing you while you are at work when you specifically put on your mail to them that they must ring at certain times of the day.
I have now decided that I will only give my home phone number out so that they can leave a message, it gets too messy when all of a sudden your phone starts ringing and you start acting all mysterious. People know what you're up to straight away.
I am still a little concerned with the job market. I remember when sites like jobserve.co.uk and jobsite.co.uk had pages of Oracle jobs on offer.. it seems to be dwindling down to 1/2 pages at the moment.
I am currently pursuing OCP and have been DBA for 6 months.. how do UK companies view this accredation ?
I personally think experience is enough, most job apps I see require 2 years minimum experience.
I've been monitoring the market in the UK for a while, and a few of the DBA postiitons I see for contracting are talking 550 pounds a day in England and 350 Punts a day in Ireland. What's the go with that? Then I see HEAPS of permant positions for 35 - 60K Pounds. Is the markets still strong. When I do a search on jobserver for Oracle DBA on Contracting in that last five days, it brings back 8 pages. Is there still an abundance of positions over there?
Folks,
This thread seems to be going off topic... I would request some one to step up to the plate and spin a new thread under oracle jobs, if you would like the discussion to continue.
